ZUMBA® is a Latin inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. The routines feature aerobic, interval, resistance training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind.
Zumba Toning® class combines the fun of a normal Zumba® class and adds hand weights to provide a strength training experience. Using light weights, you can transform your Zumba® workout to target areas like arms, shoulders, core and legs.
Werk® is the fiercely fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock, and hip hop. The WERQ® warmup previews the dance steps used in class and the WERQ cooldown includes balance and mind-body inspired poses.
Dance fitness Happy Hour is a weekly rotational fun and energetic dance workout class that features different styles of dance fitness such as Kukuwa dance work out, KaribFitness, Bollywood Fitness, Samba Fitness, Soca’Robics, REDD Warrior and so forth. Classes rotate every week so each dance fitness class style is usually taught for once a month.
Samba is a lively, upbeat, rhythm dance from Brazil. It is a fun and energetic way to stay fit and healthy. This class covers basic to complicated Samba techniques, combinations, footwork styling, Afro-Brazilian dance moves and more. The class explores Brazilian Samba styles from Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. You will also learn the cultural background behind Samba.
Salsa is a very popular form of Latin social dance. Salsa has strong influences from Puerto Rico and Cuba. The movements of salsa have origins in Cuban Son, Cha-cha-cha, Mambo and other dance forms. This non-stop action cardio class consists of basic technique, footwork and individual shines and sexy combinations. You will get a workout, but while having so much fun that you won't even notice. You will also learn the cultural background behind Salsa.
African Dance simply refers to all types of dance from Sub-Saharan Africa. In this course, you will learn traditional African moves, as well as popular African dance moves for the social dance scene such as Afro-House, N'dombolo, Soukous, Coupé Décalé, Mapouka, Afro-Zouk, Azonto. You will also learn the cultural background each African dance covered in the class.
Caribbean Dance moves to reggae, dancehall and soca music. The dances originate from Jamaica and Trinidad. In this course, you will learn how to dance to Caribbean dance styles such as dancehall and soca. These are the most popular types of Caribbean dance moves that will prepare you to shine and whine at your next Caribbean dance social. You will also learn about the cultural background of dancehall and soca.
Kizomba is a beautiful and sensual popular dance and music with a romantic flow and connection. This style of music and dance originates from Angola (Southern Africa). It is a derivative of semba, another beautiful but faster dance, with a mix of Kilapanda and Angolan Merengue. Kizomba is generally sung in Portuguese (Angola's official language). You will learn the framework, technique and feel of kizomba, in a progressive and structured way, always keeping in mind the cultural background of the dance.
Afro-Zouk is a beautiful partner dance which is danced to slower Zouk music. It is a more dramatic but sensual style of Zouk.
Kids Zumba® is ideal for kids between 3 and 12 years old. Zumba® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps; add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, cultural awareness.
Kids Hip-Hop is where kids get to learn the cool and new hip-hop dance. Students will learn what it takes to make basic dance moves look hip and funky as they move to upbeat hip-hop music. In this high-energy, age-appropriate class, kids will learn fun hip-hop techniques and combinations, danced to their favorite music. This class focuses on age appropriate hip hop dancing and music that your kids will love.
Modern Jazz lays the groundwork for technique in up-beat dancing. Students will learn a variety of dance combinations, jumps and turns. This class is a must for students wanting to learn the fundamentals of classic modern jazz technique.
Kids Creative Movement class is perfect for young dancers. The class focuses on creative movement, which builds on the necessary gross motor skills needed for primary dance instruction. We use fun, upbeat music to learn basic skills like hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping, and balance coordination. Students will engage in dramatic music movement and learn introductory ballet steps. These include plies, tendu, releve, arabesque, the five positions of the feet, and other introductory dance steps.
Kids Ballet Basics introduces children to the basics of ballet in a low-key and fun atmosphere. Participants will learn the fundamental forms of ballet including an introduction to the core positions for the feet and arms, the basic movements of the body core, basic jumps, turns and cross-stage movements. The class is designed for participants who have no former dance training or experience. The focus is to dance for fitness and health: to use the fundamentals of ballet to improve posture, muscle tone, balance, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness. No tights or leotards required!
Belly Dancing is a sensual art of movement from the far East, Belly Dancing is fun to learn! Instructor will teach and lead practice in individual moves, teaching terminology and steps. Bring a scarf big enough to wrap around the hips.
Bollywood Fitness is a fun and great dance fitness class danced to the sounds of bhangra from India. It is a combining of traditional and western-influenced dance moves which generally equals Bollywood dancing. The articulation and specificity of hands, legs, arms and chest, make Bollywood dancing a unique & energetic form of dance that everyone can enjoy.
Barre Fitness is a ballet-inspired class that incorporates a traditional ballet barre into the workout. The class features elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, all set to motivating music. Each class has its own focus and set of objectives; but, all will use the barre, or a chair, as well as other equipment such as mini-balls and small hand weights to challenge and condition your body.
